Material Manager Broken Arrow area oil & gas manufacturer seeking candidates for a Material Manager position. This is a highly visible position with responsibility to provide results driven leadership to the purchasing, planning, shipping/receiving, and inventory departments. Manager will be expected to demonstrate hands-on participation in department activities, planning, budgeting, purchasing, resource management, scheduling, training, supplier network, best practices, quality, and continued improvement of responsible areas. Responsibilities include: Ø Identifies needs for materials, supplies and services Ø Analyzes quotes, and awards the contract based on dollar amount, timeliness required Ø Initiates and manages cost saving programs and ideas, Identifies materials with equal or higher quality and lower cost Ø Negotiates long term contracts for major equipment Ø Review suppliers to ensure quality and delivery requirements are met. Negotiate cost avoidance and price reductions from suppliers Ø Develop and update procurement and department procedures Ø Resolves purchasing problems between department and vendor, while supervising all employees for progressive development and committing to developing efficiency and cohesion in processes Ø Develop and manage the annual department budget Education and experience required: Ø Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or Engineering required, while a degree in Engineering is preferred Ø In-depth understanding of ERP and MRP systems Ø Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical and mechanical components and the ability to read drawings and bills of material Ø Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the purchasing field Ø Proficiency in a variety of computer software programs and office applications Ø Excellent time management skills, and the ability to manager and prioritize tasks Ø Ability to manage others in a fast paced, autonomous atmosphere Compensation negotiations will begin at $60k/year, and based on experience and background.
